"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up HIs countenance upon you and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26 Many know this promise very well. These are the words in which we close every worship service after having received the gifts of God's word and sacrament. It is a wonderful beginning for each new week and a great encouragement for every day. These are the very words of God by which the first High Priest, Aaron, would bless the Lord's people. We rightly recognize this as a blessing from God Himself, showing His favor and pronouncing His power for prosperity and success. God's Promises are indeed a blessing. All of God's promises remind us that He favors us and has planned for us a hopeful future. When we read His promises, we should interpret them as blessings and pray them on others and ourselves. Whatever challenges may come, take His Words as a promise that grants His blessing that He will indeed, keep you, shine upon you with His grace, smile upon you and give you, peace!
