I think this is partly correct. The data doesn't actually need to move or be ported. It's already on chain. The user can permit clients (user interfaces) to operate on data. Interoperability. And an inversion of permissions (data rights).

I think there are steps being made in this direction. The more specific the application use case, the more difficult to nail the perfect data structure — which is slightly different than protocol. Overall, I'd also like to see more interoperability soon — meaning ANY. 😆
