FAQ: "Why is there no retweet button?" Let me answer. The key here is to create a structure that makes everyone feel safe enough yet provide enough ways to explore. The "retweet" button is the root of all evil because it makes it trivial to share people's comments out of context and turns everything on Twitter into a performance art rather than a conversation. It's impossible to have genuine conversation in that environment because you're engaging in conversations to win in a public performance duel, instead of actually communicating. That said, I do think there are various other ways to add more discoverability of conversations. Feel free to add your thoughts.

I see PowPing as a Reddit and Medium killer. Twetch can fill the Twitter space.@unwriter will you have a feature that allows a word document to be uploaded and turned into a blog post? it might improve the ability for people to post long form articles.
Every word is made in the context of some other words. (?) Every sentence is an sequence words that conveys a statement, question, exclamation, or command. (powping message) Every sentence has some value to the world. (total tips) If I can weigh words, I become the content filter.
I think it would be neat to be able to pin transactions for a post, so each person has their own list of transactions they decided are important. that way if they delete their post it is just easier to find.

Mmmm. Yes that could be good.
Valid point. There's so much you can do. Take your time.
Agreed
How about a pin button? Where the latest, let's say 10 pins shows up in the personal profile, but not on feeds? Like a live viewer what's interesting the person for those interested.
xanadu style?

There are so many things going on that bring back memories...Ted Nelson did inspire things we use today. Steve Jobs' NeXT is what this is. I can link some videos that prove this. Whether you ar Apple fan or not is irrelevant. Steve Jobs had a huge influence in some recent developments and projects.... 21e8.com and DeOS. Thanks@don I am trying to earn some Bitcoin while unemployed and working on getting into the dev/cybersecurity fields coming from a background as a New Orleans chef.
Yes, makes sense. But how about if there was any way where the user can have that option to make their thoughts put out there where they decide to let it be open for retweet or not? Just like how one locks their twitter account and then nobody can retweet their tweet unless they following them if you know what i mean?! Just a thought!

I like this idea@unwriter. Seems enabling user choice is becoming a core value of powping.
yes, it's a good idea to create something different, to experiment with format of the social graph toward something that is optimized around volunteering ideas.
I like the idea...@unwriter .. just keep do your thang, we trust you.
Cool, I would like use @ under a post when I want to share that with someone.
Tags would be a good compromise. People could filter convo topics by tag, and enter those where they feel they can add value. fk retweets tho
I think it's great that we can tip whatever amount we choose. Perhaps just have a trending section that shows. 1. most single tipped comment or post that day and 2. most economy over all. But it needs a different name
benjamin replied:
I like that idea to help members quickly "snap to" valued content... but it also opens the door for manipulated content stream like legacy platforms that concern us all. E.g., a tip of $0.10 might be a large tip for me given my economic status, whereas $50 might be low for one the billionaires in the community. Tough dilemma, cash is, obviously, a clean and unit of value that lets you measure content's contribution to the total economy (using@unwriter 's terms of art) -- and a signal that cost something -- but conflating it with value beyond $ could be misguided direction. Maybe the idea of trend or # of clicks, comments, etc. may be a better dive-in tool. Right now we have portals to people we follow (home), random new stuff (latest), top rated people to consider following (discover). Sorting through 'latest' will become non-value added soon as more people join on and post nothing but quotes and memes. Seems like we need a way to discover content without discovering (aka, following) specific profiles. Not a social media guy (don't even have Twitter or anything) -- so, I'm sure these guys have thought through all this...

I do agree, I can see how content can easily be manipulated from those who are a bit wealthier than others. Maybe it could be fun if the spotlight were on the tippers and not the content? Or at least have a section for that. The content creators would be attracted to those who tip frequently and tip well. I suppose it can also be a problem with the more users that join.

Atleast put a like button and comment option along with tip ?
I like what you are doing.
backlink structure in the future? Otherwise let's roll with this and see how it works out. If it doesn't, move on from there.
How about implementing "retweet with comments"?
I agree. So the original tweet will be in the status of owner, while others who agree can comment on its tweet, so we can see the full context of the tweet including all comments. Retweet is only designed to build popularity while the message is actually out of the context
The best part of PowPing is no retweet button!
