Total Economy: 4.45 USD
Please don't do shady things like trying to buy up and sell PowPing usernames. Your usernames are not worth a penny here. It was never sold for money so it's never OK to be sold for money. They are just usernames. Bitcoin is not about exploiting others to extract as much money as possible for no reason. It's about creating a productive economy together. Don't think it's ok to sell usernames here. Just use your own. On Powping, there are TONS of ways to provide value to others and make money. Trying to make some quick buck by selling usernames is just lazy and uncreative.

I think name selling is predatory or parasitical capitalism. The value is because of others and belongs to them.
you are the best, almost another Satoshi, with much better coding skill.

So true
Agree sir. I just wondered to@Calvinayre that is not real Calvin Ayre. It is not ethical to do that. But then he said I am scammer as he used wallstreet5 Twitter who accuse me as scammer while he doesn't do any research, doesn't have a proof, or even doesn't know us. It is only concluded that I said, I am willing to tokenize my start-up in BSV Blockchain, which is actually will be the most important business model to BSV when companies are tokenized here. Based on the business model, Tokenized platform is being built here in BSV. Even I know, two companies are building about it including Bayesian Group. He accuse me with that as I said to be ethically act on using other names. It is basically impersonating others which in my country, can be sued as violation of ITE law. While I always strive to be honest in my whole life, he uses accusations of scammers by others without any proof, which is also actually can be sued in court if I want. But, I don't want to consider to much as I know the most crypto is scam, and I want to create the honest project actually. I believe, time will prove it in the future.
I have not sold any usernames nor will I. With that said, asking people nicely not to do it is a pointless exercise. You either need to provide a concrete disincentive or accept that it is going to happen.

Probably correct.

Usernames are fun. I like my new BitcoinRealist brand.
maybe remove username all together? go all in on paymail used@unwriter?
bitscomplicated replied:
Was literally thinking this.

This was the original idea but there are many issues. For example you can't add multiple paymails to an account, which will be necessary when you want to have a single identity but use multiple wallets

Right. Gotcha.
The "Please" here is key. A very valid request. However, people will game any system set up, even if against the law (drug markets for instance) as all actions can be measured by risk-reward. Gaming the system includes things like early access, or the issuing entity reserving names for others. There are many strategies with domain names & so long as monopolies of communication can be created (AT&T, Finstagram, powping?) there can exist gaming of the system. Think about this: if "unwriter" had not been taken before system was open to all, would someone have taken it? Is "Ayn Rand" on Twetch really Ayn Rand, or even owned by her heirs? Complicated matters. I abide your request, but others won't. Maybe Twitter has done it best, there can be multiple "jack" monikers, but only one@jack handle. Worth consideration too.
yes, thats why my username is ddcgrsjtj, username means nothing in mostly situation
mamatrohimat replied:
Yes, it is nothing, no one to want it. It is confused. Why don't use your real name? :-)
you are right, but WHAT YOU SAID IS USELESS, DO YOU HAVE A GOOD SOLUTION
justicemate replied:
The market will learn that usernames are useless. The ones that waste time (money), getting them are the ones that lose.
coin replied:
this is false. you can look to a real world example in Saudi Arabia where there are license plate auctions and “rare” ones sell for several millions. Value is subjective- it’s why some people will pay $120 for a filet from a restaurant once a month where as others would never think to bc its a “waste” of money

Just to clarify i have nothing against the namespace market model itself. The entire web domain system is built around this concept. What I AM pointing out is that, PowPing usernames were never sold for money to begin with, which is different from domain names.
ratel replied:
seems like a missed opportunity
unwriter replied:
No opportunity was missed. if we charge for usernames, all users will need to pay up front just to sign up. That beats the purpose of completely open network with zero friction onboarding, which will generate way more transactions in the long run.

you could assign a random username to new users and charge for a custom one
ratel replied:
ideally I would be paid to sign up
unwriter replied:
good points, just wanted to keep things simple. Adding these account management systems would have made the system a lot more complicated, especially because of the way powping protocol works.

I’m such an unwriter fanboy. Prolific is a good descriptor. Glad I get to follow what you do. You’re the banksy of bsv. Just creating. I have no idea if bsv will ever go mainstream, but it’s clearly got the best development. Happy to be a part of this with you. And as crazy as it sounds: it is flat
mamatrohimat replied:
Username actually worthy if the platform getting popular. The real Calvin ayre can buy it or through the court, or he transfer it in his will. Username is should be actually worthy. In any platform, the username is always exclusive which can be taken first in first served.
Too late. But appreciete the post

Meanwhile at Twetch.....
If i sold this paymail(not planning on it) would the username go with it?
unwriter replied:
technically, yes. Everything you do on the site is signed with your paymail signature. PowPing accounts are simply conduits to simplify interactions on the site.
Yes!
What happens if the linked name@moneybutton.com is sold?
unwriter replied:
Then your PowPing account goes with it. Everything you do on the site is signed with your paymail signature. PowPing accounts are simply conduits for simplifying interactions on the site. When you first sign up to powping, your swiped paymail gets connected to the unique username. This means if you give it away and someone else starts using that paymail, they will get access to your PowPing acount. Think of it as signing in with Facebook connect. If you gave someone else the login credentials to your Facebook, that person will be able to sign in to all the "sign in with facebook" websites with that account.

We have that same philosophy at HandCash, but the main reason was that $handles were all about utility - we would feel dirty by steering the focus on speculation. We can't associate our brand with speculation, can't afford that!
