Insyruction set architecture debate has been ongoing since the 70's. Reduced instruction set scales best with least overhead long term. Bitcoin has superior design for long term even if the CISC model of solidity appears easier, it is a short term advantage only. It's easy to hide complexity behind simple things. Like putting piping and cables inside a wall. Bitcoin script is very raw. It is for languages such as sCrypt to enable users to program scripts in much more simple ways.
