Day 6
On Day 5 I ate a huge meal at midday. Boy, did I regret it. I felt very full and bloated for the rest of the day and into this morning. Had a terrible night's sleep, needing to go to the loo every couple of hours ( not number two's in case you're wondering ).
I woke up this morning with the most intense headache I've had in a long time, like my entire head was throbbing. Feeling weak, slightly dizzy. Some paracetamol and black coffee helped to alleviate those symptoms, so by about 10:30 - 11:00 I felt a bit better.
Ketones reduced slightly but not by much since yesterday. Probably my body converting some excess protein to glucose?
Blood sugar level is up a lot at 7.1 mmol/L which aligns with the protein->glucose conversion hypothesis.
I think I may have been too hasty in moving to one meal a day so I'm going to listen to my body and eat when hungry and stop eating when full. Let's see how that goes.
My Stats
- Weight: 85.1 kg (188 pounds)
- Waist: 99 cm (39 in.)
- Body fat: 22%
- Blood sugar level: 7.1 mmol/L
- Ketones: 4.0 - 8.0 mmol/L (Moderate-Large)
- Feeling: Like crap. Headache, slightly dizzy

Dinner
By 4pm I was finally starting to get hungry, 28 hours since my last meal. I decided to change it up a bit and have some pork belly strips instead of steak. I roasted these in the oven for an hour at 160°C but sadly they were overdone. I rubbed them in butter with salt, pepper and smoked paprika.
- 5 pork belly strips (572g or 1.26 pounds)
Didn't feel bloated or too full after this meal. In fact by the end of today I'm starting to feel fine again, although I haven't had a bowel movement for four days.
I'm also thinking about a resistance training program to do at home, no more than 20-30 mins per day. Maybe a rowing machine? Free weights? I already do 60-90 mins brisk walking per day. Suggestions please!
