A 'filler' piece between sessions at coingeek. I was not briefed on what they were going to say at all!

Starving the BSV trolls
After my main panel at the Coingeek conference at the start of October 2020, I was asked if I would record a fireside chat conversation with Charles Miller at Coingeek Conversations. The format was genial, with a range of questions that ranged across

I think it's a torus represennting the 'O' in Powping. According to Wikipedia a torus is a " a surface of revolution generated by revolving a circle in three-dimensional space about an axis that is coplanar with the circle." For me - having used powping for a couple of weeks - it's about revolution. The faster the revolution (circle) spins, the faster the torus will rotate and draw people in... We are all responsible for making that circle spin around its axis...

Speaking at CoinGeek - and meeting CSW
I spoke at the Coingeek conference this week, so I thought that I would record my impressions of the event on-chain as an aide-memoire for the future.

Finished rehearsals for Coingeek conference. I'm very impressed with the set up. Live link from London to New York, and virtual sessions with US panellists. Very slick indeed..

Until we get frictionless on-boarding for non-tech users who even struggle with 2FA, then Bitcoin is currently to the left of point A. The necessity to have a *separate* wallet to use most blockchain based systems - and to have enough money in it to start transacting on the network is a major blocker for most. Many Blockchain users exist in a tiny bubble without a view of 'outsiders' who, often do not know if they have a dual-band Wi-Fi router, or even know how to turn off Bluetooth on their dev

This is a neat idea - but the blockchain referred to is not BSV, and its token-based too. (I write about all sorts of blockchain technologies - but oddly, I only get trolled on Twitter when I write about BSV) https://www.zdnet.com/article/reddit-inspired-social-aggregation-platform-moves-to-the-blockchain/

Chasing the Bitcoin?
I came to Blockchain and Bitcoin because of the technology, not for the money. I struggled at first - because as I didn't have any cash in my moneybutton wallet, I could not post on the first platform I tried - Twetch. I was reluctant to use real cas

He's withdrawn from the panel as he doesn't feel informed enough about the technology to attend - he did get some hassle on Twitter though which has made him do a bit more research..

Hey, @unwriter I have a few more questions, now that I've been looking at this platform for a few days - and I like what I see... 1: If Powping is essentially free to post, free to share network, how is it going to scale to millions of users. I know that Twitter started out as a couple of PC's under a desk in 2006, but look at its infrastructure now. How are you going to monetise this enough to get the infrastructure needed? 2: is there a mechanism to tip everyone who responds? Does the tip but

I've joined powping to see what is different compared to Twitter or Twetch - so far, I can see that Powping seems to be free to post whereas Twetch isn't. WHat other features kees you on Powping??
